People Journey Series | Sarah Moseley, Personal Assistant
by Sarah Moseley
We take a look behind the corporate bios of our team to uncover what drives them in their careers and why they continue to choose Marlin Hawk. Next in our People Journey Series is Sarah Moseley, Personal Assistant, in our London office.
01. Tell us about your career to date with Marlin Hawk.
I started in 2019 after a 6-month career break travelling South America. I had previously worked in Executive Search, although largely in the Interim space, so have really developed my understanding of search projects throughout my time here. Four months in to my role here, COVID hit, so there was the extra challenge of being relatively new and working from home. However, I was impressed with how we as a team pulled through, showing our versatility and resilience, and 3.5 years on I am still very much enjoying being part of Marlin Hawk.
02. What attracted you to Marlin Hawk? And what makes you stay?
Immediately I was drawn to the collaborative nature of Marlin Hawk. We are not siloed in to one team, so I have been able to work on multiple projects cross-industry, allowing me to gain a breadth of experience. Being a boutique firm, I think my role has developed more quickly and been more varied – I have had the opportunity to work closely on both internal and external projects, and feel connected to the global business.
03. What has been your greatest achievement so far?
With Business Support roles, sometimes I think it is hard to recognise your achievements as you play a supporting role in so many projects. For this reason, I think the consistency in my approach, to ensure I am reliable and efficient, is what I determine as my biggest achievement. Not forgetting the company events I have organised, which it seems everyone enjoys and I hope there will be many more!
04. Who has helped you along the way?
I am lucky to have had Manjeet Padda as my manager and mentor throughout my time at Marlin Hawk. Not only is she extremely experienced in her role, she brings a great energy to Business Support and the wider team. I also work extremely closely with our COO, Nabila Sadiq, whose dedication to achieving the best for Marlin Hawk whilst showing great understanding / nurturing of our team is both impressive and inspiring.
05. Which of the Marlin Hawk values resonates the most and why?
Balance – as I think it makes us all better at our roles when we are able to have fun and flexibility. I am pleased that Marlin Hawk recognises this as a factor in our wellbeing.
